Rear drive
Only the rear axle drives. A hybrid adds its motor between the engine and transmission; it does not have a separate electric rear axle.
Rear axle driven
How this works
Controls illustrate mechanisms, not the complete driving procedure or every vehicle interlock. Rear-lock demo requires 4L and loose ground. Toyota calls the unlocked full-time road mode H4F; center lock couples the shafts. No front locker is fitted. SDM changes articulation, not differential locking.
A-TRAC, Auto LSD, Torsen bias, Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control braking are not simulated. Wheel states do not predict actual traction, braking or safe speed. Both engines drive through the same mechanical transmission and driveshafts. Follow Toyota’s owner manual (OM35C28U pp415–423: stop wheels before rear locking; maximum 5 mph with rear lock).
