500h DIRECT4
Independent rear eAxle helps
TX500h combines a2.4L turbo parallel hybrid, six-speed automatic and independent76-kW rear eAxle. DIRECT4 can vary front:rear driving force from100:0 to20:80. The arrows show a possible operating state, not a fixed split or a sum of peak motor outputs.
How this works
TX350: turbo four-cylinder, eight-speed automatic; AWD uses a mechanical shaft. TX500h: turbo hybrid, six-speed automatic, electric rear eAxle and Dynamic Rear Steering. TX550h+: V6 plug-in, e-CVT and electric rear eAxle; no rear steering.
Trail Mode is fitted on AWD builds. There is no low range or driver-selected axle locker. The550h+ has a charge port; the500h does not. Plug-in figures are manufacturer projections and charging depends on current, temperature and conditions.
Qualitative possible states; no traction, recovery, steering-angle, stopping-distance or efficiency prediction.
